new family member

Hi Folks!

So it has been ages since i have posted anything, but i have an excellent excuse... i was very luck to get a new mare at the beginning of January. She is a beautiful 17 hand Hanoverian Thoroughbred with 3 excellent gates. I have had a lot of fun getting to know her over the past moth, and she has finally started to trust me and let me in which is great! She is such a sweetie, and I never want to leave the barn once i get there.. between her and my gorgeous gelding i am very very spoiled.
I now have kicked both their training into high gear to get ready for season which is sneaking up very quickly. The barn is going to get very interesting these days, because show season is always a time to walk on egg at my barn. We all want the others to do well, but at the same time we are all competing against each other.

I will keep you all posted on the lovely stories that come along with this time of year, and i will keep you posted on my new girl :)

Hi folks!
Sorry it has been a while.. the holidays area crazy time as I am sure you know. Hope you all had an excellent holiday and new year.

Speaking of the holidays.. I'm not to sure what it is like at your barn, but at mine many people receive horse related things for Christmas like clothing and such. When it comes to clothing, it is pretty much inevitable that people have the same breaches and vests etc.. but I am sure that only my barn puts up the fuss that i saw a few days ago.
Two of our top riders waled into the barn wearing not only the same breeches, but the same shirt, vest, boots everything! it was pretty freaky actually, but they were the new arrivals for the season, so of course they both bought them all. I found it fairly funny and amusing, and i expected them to well.. not care but oh man was I wrong! They both looked at each other with their eyes bulging out of their heads and they debated for a good 20 min on who was going to change, and they based that on what polos and saddle pads they were going to use so they matched the best, and then finally one of them went and changed into a spare out fit she happened to have.

Now i like to match and look put togiether to a certain degree, mostly becasue it is the way it is done in Dressage and riders always try to look their best and same with their horses, but i just thought that was a little over kill! I should say.. it was a very cute outfit haha

Till next time.. Happy riding!
